Food Security for Montana—and Beyond
Long before it became a national headline, Montana Farmers Union was working to raise awareness about food insecurity and the cracks in our agricultural supply chain. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought food shortages into sharp focus, they knew it was time to amplify their message.
In 2020, we launched an award-winning public awareness campaign designed to educate the public on food policy, local supply chains, and the importance of community-supported agriculture.
Key Features
- Two 2020 National Communicator Awards
- Gold Telly Award for long-format video
- Video storytelling featuring farmers, ranchers, and local business owners
- High-quality photography for digital, print, and web use
- Digital ads targeting statewide and regional audiences
The Goal
Build a public-facing campaign that would:
• Educate Montanans about food security and food policy
• Share real stories from local farmers, ranchers, and business owners
• Drive traffic to a landing page with actionable resources
• Encourage citizens to get involved and make their voices heard
The Solution
Through a series of long- and short-form videos, digital ad creative, and photography, we told the story of Montana’s agricultural community and its role in protecting our state’s food security. Content was centered around real voices and real impact.
The result was a powerful storytelling campaign that humanized the issues, increased awareness, and gave people a platform for change.
